English DJ & producer J-Fresh released his new album “Juice” on April 20th.
Six months after the release of his debut album “Fruit Salad”, J-Fresh is back with a brand new album “Juice”. The album includes the new single “Lock Down”, featuring Predz UK, Yus, Tommy Turner.
“I’ve worked with both Predz UK and Yus before so I’m well aware what they’re about and they smashed it. Tomy is a uni student in Bournemouth I linked quickly and we cut a verse and a bridge”, says J-Fresh.
The album also includes numerous artists such as Monkstar, Swiss, Maxwell D, Plague, Vital, Yus, Predz UK and more.

Where are you from?
I’ve spent most on my life on the South Coast of England, so people assume I’m from Bournemouth - lets stick with that!
What got you into music?
The early days of UK Garage got me hooked! DJ’s such as EZ and Tuff Jam and then Heartless Crew, Pay As U Go, So Solid were the inspirations for me to pick up records and start trying to DJ! It was such an exciting and dynamic time for UK music with influences from ragga, jungle, hip hop and then watching and experiencing garage evolve into grime. I have lived in Bournemouth aIl my life and I spent time going to legendary raves such as La Cosa Nostra and Sidewinder and grabbing tape pack and vinyl to feed my love of this music.
When did you start DJing and producing?
Started picking up records in the late 90’s and messing around with turntables at college and Uni.
What do you like to do the most?
Producing records is dope, and hearing your tunes on national radio and snapchats from people hearing your tunes in a club is sick. but for me, the energy of DJ-ing live is always the best.
How would you define your sound?
Very UK, very me.
Do you remember the first project you’ve ever worked on? What was it?
I started making edits of existing records back in the early 2000’s - in hindsight they would been awful, but everyone’s gotta starts somewhere.
What did you learn since then?
Practice, practice, practice.
Tell us about your album “Juice”. What’s the story behind it? How long did it take you to work on this record?
#Juice is my second album in 6 months - 100% independent and contains 9 tracks of hip hop and grime. I’ve reached out to true legends of our scene such as Monkstar, Swiss, Maxwell D and Plague as well as dope newer artists such as Vital, Yus, Predz UK and more.
What message do you want to deliver through this album?
No message in particular, it’s me showcasing the records and sounds I represent with some sick artists.

You are from the UK. What do you think of the music scene out there?
Sick, and only getting bigger and better. World domination is the next step.
In your opinion, what makes music so special?
Truly unique, there’s always room for new sounds and ideas. And classic records can stand the test of time and bring back floods of memories - good and bad. Music is the greatest. Fact.
What inspires you the most?
Doing the best that I can be doing, and trying to be the best versions of me.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? And what advices would you give to young artists?
Practice, listen, learn, take every opportunity that comes your way and don’t run before you can walk.
What are you currently working on?
I can’t answer this!
What’s your purpose?
In music, to continue pushing working with legendary and new school artists creating sickness. In life, I’m just living my best life and doing what I want.
