NYC-based artist Shenna released her new single “Can’t Get Enough” on June 7th.

Written by Shenna and produced by Austin Bello, the dream-pop single is about that new feeling when you start liking someone.

"I wanted to create a song about that new feeling you get when you first start really liking someone and the chemistry is so undeniable. Many people say love is a drug and the phrase 'I can't get enough' kept repeating over and over in my head. The lyric video is supposed to be like a daydream when you space out and are thinking about that special someone," explains Shenna.

The singer/songwriter will be releasing her new EP Blue Memories this summer and will be going on tour in Japan this fall.

Hi Shenna - how are you? What have you been up to since our first interview?

Hi! I have been amazing just keeping myself busy! I hope you are doing amazing!

You recently released your new single "Can't Get Enough" - what's the story behind this song?

"Can't Get Enough" is a seductive song. Imagine that summer crush type of feeling and you find an attraction for someone but you can not point out exactly what it is but every single moment with them gives you a rush. I say "the way you do that thing that you do, I can't get enough of you".

When did you start working on this particular song? Who did you work with?

To be honest this song like many others have been done over a year. I went through a weird time where I wanted everything perfect and usually I finish my songs with the beat and lyrics and recording done in 2 days! I just wanted to release singles and my producer was like "Shenna this song is killer just release it already" , finally I caved in and agreed!

What can you tell us about the visuals for "Can't Get Enough"? What was the inspiration behind the lyric video and artwork?

I wanted to create something very dreamy, seductive, yet tasteful. The directors at Young Tale Productions listened to the song and helped create an aesthetic where it looks like a dream state. That is why I like to call this my "dream-pop" single!

What do you like the most about this song?

I like the overall feel because it is not too much in your face. I wanted to make it simple so it could get stuck in peoples heads! lol

What is your goal for this new single?

My main goal is to increase my listeners and reach especially on streaming services such as Spotify & Apple Music! I wanted to make a chill summer song that people that may not know who I am just yet will vibe to!

Could you tell us a little bit about your song "Hope You're Happy"?

Yes! "Hope You're Happy" discusses how people may show one thing online but in reality they may not be happy and be suffering from anxiety, depression, etc due to the pressure of social media.

What are your thoughts on social media?

It sucks! Honestly it's awesome only because you get to meet new people and connect with people all around but now there is such a huge disconnect between having real conversations as people are constantly on their phones. People such as you and I have to stay on social media because we have brands we are constantly building. It is just overwhelming 90% of the time.

Any upcoming shows/projects?

Yes! I actually just finished the last song to my EP yesterday it has been 2 years in the making. I was just sitting on a ton of music and then said "you know what I am just going to create an EP because all these songs share a similar theme." I am going on tour in the Fall in Japan and super excited!

What message do you want to give to the readers of this blog?

I want everyone to stay true to who they are and to embrace their own individuality!
