Alice D

London-based singer/songwriter Alice D is back with a brand new single titled ‘Forever Mine’.

Produced by long time collaborator Oscar Scheller, the r&b record is a love letter to yourself.

The whole song I am singing to myself, through the good and the bad- I am forever mine and you are forever yours,” says Alice.

Currently working on her second EP, the r&b artist is continuing to create her own way in the music industry by offering empowering r&b records.

“Forever Mine” is now available worldwide.

Hi Alice! How are you? What have you been up to since our first interview?

Hi Virginie / Thread, I'm very well thank you- busy! I've been working on my second EP, which I'm very excited for everyone to hear.

'Forever Mine' is your upcoming single. What inspired you to write this record?

I was looking into what it means to be someone's "soulmate" initially and a lot of quotes that popped up said that they "couldn't live without that person" or "didn't feel complete." I think it's a funny way to think. When you are in a relationship, that other person should compliment your life rather than fill a void. Relying on them to make you happy rarely works out in the end. "Forever Mine" stuck out as one of the phrases when I was researching and I thought it would be interesting to flip it as if you are writing a love letter to yourself. We need to be our own best friend first and foremost. The whole song I am singing to myself, through the good and the bad- I am forever mine and you are forever yours.

Who helped you create this song? Who produced it?

I co-wrote it with my long time friend & collaborator, Oscar Scheller. He produced it also!

What made you want to release 'Forever Mine' as a single?

I loved the message of the song and thought it was important for people to know that happiness starts with you, not anyone else.

What do you like the most about this song?

As mentioned before, I love what the song stands for, mixed with the moody backing track. There's a simplicity about it but it's also very strong and empowering.

What message do you want to give to anyone struggling with self-love?

We all have our dark days and it's okay to not feel okay. I think try and focus on what you can do, rather than what you can't. Accept the compliments that come your way, rather than brushing them off. Putting ourselves first is key (it's fine to say no to things!) and I think just try to appreciate who you are and everything that comes with it, we all have our imperfections and worries. Life is hectic and it's good to just stop sometimes and give ourselves some TLC.

What is your motto for 2020?

"Keep On Keeping On" - being in the music industry is tough but I wouldn't have it any other way. Music is my passion and I'm determined to not give up on my dream. Let's get it 2020!
