Van Bobbi
Van Bobbi is a singer/songwriter/producer from northern California.
Influenced by the likes of Van Morrison, Janet Jackson, Chromeo and Blood Orange, the artist released his first single “Morro Bay” in 2016. Followed by successful songs such as “Amelia Earhart (Never Come Down)” and “Vicious Appetite”, Bobbi is delivering an infectious and colorful sound to the pop music landscape.
“I hope my music inspires people to celebrate life and I hope it shields them from pain. I hope my music augments a given experience or situation. I hope it inspires healing,” says Bobbi.
The Los Angeles-based artist has recently released new remixes: “Amelia Earhart” (Afterglo Remix) and “Morro Bay” (JNL Remix) now available on major streaming platforms.

What's your story?
I’m from a small town in northern California, but I now live in LA.
Growing up, what were the things you were passionate about?
I was passionate about rap, basketball, girls, rnb, foreign languages and making music.
When did you know music was more than just a hobby?
When I got paid for it.
What were your favorite records to sing along to?
Drake, Janet Jackson, George Michael and Tom Petty.
When did you decide to become an artist?
I don’t think you decide that. It is just a way of life.
You recently released a remix for the single "Amelia Earhart". How was it like to work with Afterglo on this?
Afterglo was impressive in his ability to extract the best parts of the song. He brought a lot to this remix.
What's the story behind "Amelia Earhart"?
It’s about wanting to try again with someone after you’ve failed at love. It’s a fantasy about how great it could have been.
What made you want to release the remix version of this song?
It was undeniably great.
In your opinion, what makes a good remix?
The ability to capture the heart of the song in a way the original artist never imagined.
What do you want people to feel when listening to your music?
I want them to feel happy, empowered and free.
From all the songs you've written so far, which lyric are you the most proud of?
Honestly, I don’t play favorites.
As an artist, what are the biggest obstacles you've had to overcome so far?
Ego, Music Industry BS.
What does it mean for you to be an artist?
It means I live in a creative head space most of the time. I’m always learning and creating, even if it’s not music. Cooking, video editing, learning about light and culture… These are all creative things that engage and enrich my life.
How would you define music?
Fun, sexy, introspective sometimes…
Do you remember a specific moment in your life where music made a huge difference?
Yes, before and after huge life changes.
In your opinion, what would make the world a better place?
If everyone spoke 3 languages and had to travel for 6 months to another country.
