Joshua KYEOT releases new EP "She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not"
English singer/songwriter Joshua KYEOT unveils a conceptual EP entitled “She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not”.
KYEOT revealed the first part of the EP “She Loves Me” on March 30th, which included the single “Playground Sweethearts”.
After a sold out show at the Servant Jazz Quarters and a stunning performance with BBC Introducing, the London-based artist is now offering the second part of the EP. Entitled “She Loves Me Not”, the project was produced by Max Marlow and mixed by Ollie Dow.
KYEOT will be performing at Sebright Arms on the 7th of February 2019 in London.
How would you describe your new EP?
It's a conceptual EP spoken from the view point of two people in a love triangle. They both tell their stories of courting the same girl and the consequences of them courting at the different times that they did. Drama ensues and I hope the story will allow the listener to explore which character they'd be in this triangle.
Sonically the music tells the story as much as the lyrics do and it is unrestricted by genre and only driven by themes of the songs.
What are the different topics you wrote about on this new EP?
Songwriting took years and different ideas. I didn't set out to write an EP but the songs told a story I didn't know I was writing at the time. Producer Max Marlow and engineer Ollie Dow helped me bring my vision to life.
The topics as touched on in the first answer, are essentially about love and spontaneity and the consequences. The underlying concept is that we can all fall into the shoes of either of the characters given the right circumstances.
What did you learn about yourself after finishing this project?
I learnt that I enjoy this process of creating, recording and finishing. I have a lot to learn and I am willing to keep on.

What's the story behind the song "Still"?
“Still” is one of the consequences that hear on the She Loves Me Not side of the EP. It is the song of heartbreak and the protagonist's futile endeavours to let go.
What message do you want to deliver through this new music?
Sonically the message would be that we should let creators create irrespective of genre.
Aside from that I hope that people who hear my music are moved to dance, bob their heads, be inspired to create and simply enjoy the story in whatever capacity they can.
