Kat Saul

I’ve been following Kat Saul since 2019 (even though it feels like it’s been 3 years for some reason). I never stopped listening to her records since our first interview. She is a breath of fresh air in the music industry with her own musical signature, made in the 90’s :) “Bite” and “I Love To Hate You” are some of her best songs (in my opinion). Her EP …From Unit 408 was on repeat for weeks.

Today she has a new song called “Monsters” and it's already one of my favorites. I already knew it was going to be big after hearing the first few seconds. It is another big record with incredible melodies and an important topic. “Monsters” is an anthem. There’s no better word for it. It’s for the ones who feel alone, the ones who feel broken, the ones struggling with depression. “Monsters” is here to remind us we are not alone in this mess and it’s okay not to be okay. I can personally relate to this song so much - knowing I am not alone is comforting. I believe many others will also relate to it, especially during these challenging times. It’s that type of records you would blast in your car while crying and smiling at the same time. It is empowering and liberating.

“When you’re a little kid, you’re afraid of things like the Boogie Man, Dracula, and Zombies. To be real, I think I’m still afraid of Zombies, but in my experience growing up shifts your fears. Now instead of vampires and aliens, it’s the fear of failure, mental health issues, broken relationships, childhood trauma, and all the other shit that goes in a messed-up-baggage-cocktail. All that to say, it turns out real life is way more terrifying than the dark. I wanted to write a song that brought that uneasiness to light because It’s a transition we don’t really talk about. I toyed with the idea for about a year before writing the concept because I wanted to make sure it felt real. And wow, with everything that’s happened in the world this year, those fears are more prominent than ever for everyone. I think we all wish we could go back to when our monsters lived under our beds,” says Saul.

Kat Saul is a rock star. She’s one of the greatest female artists out there and I can’t wait to see how she evolves musically/artistically. But one thing I would say is that I truly believe in her and her team.
