Endie
I normally don’t feature songs with this specific genre but I really love Endie’s latest single “love like that”. It’s super catchy, fun and memorable. But what caught my attention in the first place is the production and those unique melodies. “love like that” is a banger.
Thank you so much Endie for this conversation and congrats on this new single !!
“love like that” is now available everywhere !
Introduce yourself - what's your story?
Hi, my name is Endie, I am an artist based out of New Orleans, LA. I enjoy spending time with my friends and going on late-night drives.
What did you grow up listening to?
Growing up I listened to a lot of Michael Jackson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and H.I.M. I had a very diverse taste in music as a kid. In my opinion, I was too young to decide what I really liked.
When did you start writing songs?
I started writing in 2018, but I used to just freestyle most of my songs. Only recently did I start actually using my writing skill in my music.
What gave you the confidence to be an artist and release your original music?
I have never been a super shy/low confidence person. Everything that I dropped, whether it was a year ago or a few months ago, I was always super confident with it.
Who was the first person to ever believe in you?
The first person to ever believe in me was my brother (aka. SevenHeavens). He kinda showed me the basics and introduced me to the world of making music as a whole.
"love like that" is your new single - what's the inspiration/story behind this song?
'love like that' became an idea after I distanced myself from my online life. As soon as I did so I started going out more and hanging out with friends. My feelings for this girl I used to be obsessed with re-sparked. We went on our first real date, and it was the best time I've had in such a long time. I instantly knew that I still loved her, and It brought so much inspiration to me.
Could you describe the songwriting/production process for this single? Who helped you create it?
One night I was listening through beats, and the 'love like that' beat stood out to me. I sat there for a few hours and just spilled my emotions to my notes app on my phone, and everything just fell into place.
What's your favorite thing about this song?
This is an unpopular opinion because people don't look this deep into the song, but I really love the way I mixed the verses. It was like nothing I've ever done and it came out perfect.
What made you want to release "love like that" as a single?
The second I finished up 'love like that' i knew it would be a hit, and I have/had very high expectations for it.
What can you tell us about the artwork?
The artwork was a picture taken of me sitting on the rooftop of a building in Chicago. I fell in love with the picture the second I saw it, and knew it was the one.
As an artist, what is the hardest part? And what is the best part?
As an artist, the hardest part is not necessarily knowing how to please everyone, but once you realize that you can't, it gets easier to just be yourself. The best part has to be when people reach out saying they love the music and just the support in general.
What are your thoughts on today's music industry? If you could change one thing, what would it be?
I feel like the music industry is super saturated. I think people try too hard to fit inside of a box of "generic industry music". With the industry being as saturated as it is, I believe it can be used as great motivation.
In your opinion, what would make the world a better place?
I think the world would be better if people stopped caring so much about what others do and only cared about themselves. At the end of the day, people need to think "does this affect me in any way".
What biggest life lessons have you learned so far?
This one is super cliche but true. "Treat others how you want to be treated". It doesn't hurt to be nice to people.
