I am only discovering goth gf but I instantly knew I was going to love their music because I love boy bands and I love pop music. They have just dropped their new single “kinda love” and it’s one of these records you will listen to on repeat throughout the whole summer.
Comprised of Zach DeGaetano and Carter Vaughan, the duo is creating memorable music that makes you forget about your worries with feel good songs.

Introduce goth gf - what's your story?
Just two buds trying to make music they would like to listen to. However, the abridged story is that we met performing with Tate McRae and ended up being best buds within about 20 minutes of hanging. When the pandemic hit, we would Facetime every day writing songs. And thus goth gf was born.
How would you define goth gf?
We are a bedroom boyband duo based in southern California. As far as the sound/genre, we aren’t entirely sure, but it lands somewhere between pop and alt/indie.
"kinda Love" is your new single - what's the inspiration behind this song?
We wrote Kinda Love about the universal feeling of self-doubt (& sometimes self-loathing) while acknowledging that you still deserve a love or a friendship that makes you feel good.
What can you tell us about the artwork?
Something about the way the song felt when it was done reminded us of the ocean at sunset, so we wanted to capture that feeling (literally) & share it with everyone.
What's your goal for "kinda Love"?
The goal for Kinda Love is the same as with any of our other songs, which is to transparently express & capture relatable emotion that may be shared by any of our listeners.
What are your thoughts on today's music industry? If you could change one thing, what would it be?
The industry is ever changing so it’s hard to really get a grasp on it. That part can be frustrating at times, but making songs we love and having fans who truly support us makes it all amazing and so worth it.
In your opinion, what would make the world a better place?
Honestly, we have no idea what we’re doing either, but if everyone could learn to chill out a bit & give love to each other, everything would feel a little better.
