JANE

“Moon” by JANE is out now and it is one of the most captivating songs I’ve heard lately.

Produced by Eric Zayne, the latest single offers a unique universe that combines rock and pop. Accompanied by her haunting melodies and magical vocals, the psychedelic production perfectly blends with her storytelling. “Moon” is incredible. It is clear that the 17 year old artist has a true musical identity and I cannot wait to hear more.

She will be releasing her brand new EP later this year, but for now, go stream “Moon”, now !

Introduce yourself - what's your story?

I am JANE - a 17 year-old Utah native singer, songwriter, and dancer. I play the guitar and piano and I love to spend time with my family.

"Moon" is your newest single - what's the inspiration behind this song?

The inspiration behind my newest single “Moon” is to write a song where I am observing the world through my eyes.

Could you describe the songwriting/production process for this single? Who helped you create it? When did you start working on it?

I co-wrote “Moon” with my producer Eric Zayne about a year ago. We wrote it and produced it in one day.

At what point did you realize that "Moon" had to be a single?

On the day Eric and I wrote and produced “Moon” was the day we knew we had to release it.

What did you feel when recording this song?

When recording “Moon” I felt a really cool connection to the lyrics and melody.

What's your favorite lyric on "Moon"?

My favorite lyric in “Moon” is “Angels are dressed in disguise to hide the love in their eyes cause no one wants it” this is my favorite lyric because it reminds me that we aren’t alone in this world, we have people who love and care about us even if we don’t see it.

What can you tell us about the artwork?

I absolutely love the artwork! It is a cool visual that really portrays the psychedelic nature of the song.

What do you want people to feel when listening to this song?

I want people to feel that they can relate to the lyrics and never lose sight of the light representing love and hope whether it is the light in others or in themselves.

As an artist, what is the hardest part? And what is the best part?

As an artist the hardest part would be being vulnerable and expressing how you feel through music. The best part is performing and sharing it!

What are your thoughts on today's music industry? If you could change one thing, what would it be?

If I could change one thing about the music industry would be that it was run by people who love the music rather than money.

Could you list a few records that influenced the music you are making today?

My primary music influences are Coldplay, Adele, U2, and LANY.

What does songwriting and singing make you feel?

I love songwriting and singing. It is very therapeutic for me and makes me more connected with myself.

What's the best advice you've ever received?
The first thing that comes to mind of the best advice I’ve heard is simple. Just stay true to yourself.

In your opinion, what would make the world a better place?

I think more awareness and kindness to others is what I think would make the world a better place.

What can we expect to see/hear from you in the next following months?

I have more singles coming out in the following months and I am working on an album! Super excited for the future!
