"Serotonin" by Dylan Dunlap
I did a little interview with Dylan when he released his song "Here For Me" - which was the first song I ever heard of him. He performed it at the Hotel Café before releasing it and I was blown away by his talent and his honesty. He's definitely one of my favorite discoveries.
He recently released his new single "Serotonin" and I think it has become my new favorite Dylan Dunlap's song. He released this new one during Mental Health Month and it's one of the reasons why I love this artist. He's one of these rare artists who really give a shit about feelings and mental health. He's not afraid to be vulnerable and he’s not afraid to share his experiences with mental health through his art and his platform. I truly respect him for that - for being an advocate and for being Human. We need more people like him in this world. I absolutely love the lyrics of this new song, but also the production (shout out Ben Zelico) and the melodies. The chorus has one of the most beautiful melodies and I can't seem to get enough of it. I’ve been listening to this song on repeat since release day and I feel like it’s going to become an anthem for so many.
"Serotonin" feels hopeful, honest and inspiring. I am often looking for songs about mental health because I don’t think we hear that a lot these days but Dylan is one of these artists who write a lot about this topic and I appreciate him for that.
Once again, Dylan Dunlap makes us feel less alone. “Serotonin” is making me feel less alone. And once again, he brings us hope and light. That's what music is all about. I’m always super excited to hear his new music but “Serotonin” is definitely one of his best songs. So go stream it if you haven’t yet !! Also, check out his Serotonin Sunday :)
I’m hoping to see him perform again very soon. But for now, thank you Dylan for what you do. You are an inspiration.
