Cecilia Gault

Cecilia Gault has just dropped her new single “As Long As It’s You” and it’s an instant banger. Fusing pop and r&b, the new single was produced by Richard Orofino.

“The lyrics allude to passionate love and sex, being in love with someone so much they can do anything and it wouldn't matter, longing for love that you see in movies,” she says.

With big melodies and a solid production, the new single has the potential to be one of the biggest Summer smashes.

“As Long As It’s You” is now available worldwide :)

Introduce yourself - what's your story?

Hi! I’m Cecilia! I'm an artist based and born & raised in lower manhattan! Manhattan is a peculiar place to grow up I think. It’s the center of everything: art, culture, and finance… pretty much everything you can think of starts right here, except farming.  I grew up surrounded by overwhelming excitement and creativity.

What did you grow up listening to?

So many different genres of music... My parents took me to see the metropolitan opera 4 times a year when I was in elementary school. Throughout elementary school, I was in a church choir. Occasionally my parents also took me to jazz clubs and rock concerts. I think my first rock concert was The Killers, when they released the first album. After that I went to so many gigs big and small, famous and coming into fame.

When did you know you had to become an artist and release your original music?

When I realized I suck at everything else haha… I started taking it seriously when I realized how naturally drawn I was to creating music. I went to a performing arts middle and high school, so I have always been in a creative space growing up, so it felt natural to keep going down that path.

How would you define Cecilia Gault, the artist?

It’s me Cecilia, that’s all I can say.

"As Long As It's You" is your new single - what's the inspiration behind this single?

I originally thought about writing a song with the Romeo & Juliet sentiment of loving someone so much, you’d die for them. I thought it would be funny to say ridiculous proclamations of love to someone.

Could you describe the songwriting/production process for this single? Who helped you create it? What did you feel when writing this song?

I wrote “As Long As It’s You” with Richard Orofino. The song was super fun to write because we were cracking jokes the whole time Richard Orofino and I were writing it. The concept was already humorous so we just ran with it and didn't take it too seriously, which made the whole thing super enjoyable.

What made you want to release "As Long As It's You" as a single?

I don’t really want any of my songs to be album cuts! Maybe I’ll change my mind in the future, but I think I'm going to release every song as a single!

What can you tell us about the artwork?

I was just having fun on photoshop. There wasn’t any specific direction I was going for. I just kept fooling around on photoshop until something kind of cool happened (usually how I accomplish most of my creative projects lol).

As an artist, what is the hardest part? And what is the best part?

Right now, the hardest part is that I get overwhelmed because I’m handling every aspect of my artist project... but I would also say that's the best part because I get to have 100% control of everything I do and make.

What are your thoughts on today's music industry? If you could change one thing, what would it be?

It is hard to say what I would like to change… because for better or for worse the industry keeps moving and changing constantly.

Besides music, what are you passionate about?

Art and fashion. I live for creativity and expression! I procrastinate music stuff with other creative projects!

What biggest life lessons have you learned so far?

To follow your intuition :)

In your opinion, what would make the world a better place?

The world would be a better place if you stan Cecilia.
