David J

Country artist David J has just released his debut EP Lost My Heartbreak and it is a MUST listen.

I’m not going to lie, I LOVE country music. Country music probably has some of the best vocalists in the game and they definitely know how to write great songs with incredible melodies. David J is no exception. His debut EP is the kind of projects I would play on repeat. First of all, David J has remarkable vocals. Second, the project has a brilliant production (shout out Jordan Lake and Matt McVinny) and an astounding songwriting (shout out Dylan Brady for co-writing some of these tunes). David J delivered one of the best Country projects of 2022. It is timeless.

David J is, without a doubt, an amazing talent and I’m so happy I got to feature him on my blog.

Lost My Heartbreak is out now :)

Introduce yourself - what's your story?

I'm David J - someone who started grinding on TikTok and saw major success. Now, I'm releasing my debut EP and just signed my first management deal!

You’ve just released your debut EP Lost My Heartbreak - how does it feel like?

It feels good to finally put out many songs that we’ve worked so hard on!

Could you describe the songwriting/production process for this EP? When did you start working on it? Who helped you create this project?

I started working on this project last May and we just released it. The people involved are Jordan Lake and Matt McVinny.

What different topics are you talking about on this EP?

One word here, girls.

What did you learn about yourself after finishing this project?

I found the right group to work with, these people who made the project flow!

What's your favorite thing about this EP?

When I put out music, they get to pick their favorite song!

Any favorite memories from the making of this EP?

The track "Naturally" came about in an odd way! We wrote this song in the span of three days. We didn't eat or sleep and just worked until the song was done!

As an artist, what is the hardest part? And what is the best part?

Criticism is the hardest part of anything; however, the best part if being able to make music every day for a living.

What are your thoughts on today's music industry? If you could change one thing, what would it be?

I think there are a lot of platforms out there that let people grow, which helped me. If I could change one thing is when people that don't work hard get rewarded.

What is the proudest moment of your career so far?

Opening up for Blake Shelton in Flordia!

What advice would you give to artists out there?

Always work hard and never care what haters say to you.

In your opinion, what would make the world a better place?

If everyone was just nice.

What biggest life lessons have you learned so far?

Never take things for granted!
