Paige Anne

When I first heard “Missile”, I got instantly amazed by Paige Anne’s incredible vocals. At only 16, the singer/songwriter is already delivering big records like “Missile”.

On September 19th, Anne released her debut EP The First Paige which is a collection of pop songs that explores the feelings of growing up. The 5-track EP was produced by OBEEYAY and it includes the previous upbeat singles “Who Invited Them”, “The Way You Got Me”, “Snow” and “Free”.

“Missile” stands out from the rest of the songs with its powerful pop ballad that highlights Anne’s big vocals.

The First Paige is a must listen.

Introduce yourself - what's your story?
I am Paige Anne. I just turned 16 years old on the 19th, I am currently in the 10th grade. I have been singing since I was six years old. In fact, my first "performance" was at a 1st-grade talent show where I sang. My very first audition was for a play when I was seven years old.

When did you start working on this project? Could you describe the songwriting/production process? Who helped you create it?

This project started in 2020 with OBEEYAY. It was kind of like a round table, where we would talk about my experiences and the lyrics that I jotted down. The input and organization of thoughts and lyrics would create a finished product. We would lay it down. It was so fun to do the mixing with MarcoG, he really has an ear for it. I am so grateful for my team. OBEEYAY brought in platinum songwriter Zach Sorgen to help with my song Free. He was Amazing!! His mind is quick, and he could think of connections to storylines so quickly!

What different topics are you talking about on this project?

The majority of what I sing and write about is feelings of breaking through the normal emotion of growing up and just enjoy being yourself.

Any favorite memories from the making of the EP?

Definitely the burritos from Magelbys while writing and producing. This team is so professional and fun!

What's the inspiration behind the song "Missile"? What did you feel when writing this song?

My song "Missile" was a little different, going through the possible breakup of a relationship and how even if it ends....it was beautiful. Not everything needs to hold a grudge....but a "Missile," that is spectacular while it is lit and quiet when it leaves.

What can you tell us about the music video?

I have never done any music videos before, but this was by far my favorite thing ever. The on-site locations and the ideas to put it together grabbed the elements of the song to give them life.

What's your favorite thing about this project?

The wardrobe changes, photography and, the beautiful views that were hand-picked for these videos; they were amazing."

As an artist, what is the hardest part? And what is the best part?

The hardest part is definitely feeling confident in myself and being worried about what the listening population will think. I am definitely my worst critic, and I want to be better constantly. However, my favorite part is performing live in front of a great interactive crowd. This is so much fun to watch while I am singing.

How's it like to be a woman in the music industry?

I think that we are coming into an age where women can really shoot for anything that they want. Being 16, I have more of an opportunity to break the ceiling and blow away the competition.

What message do you want to give to women out there?

You can be anything you want to be.....just be confident in yourself.

What are your thoughts on today's music industry?

It is ever-changing and evolving. Music is available instantaneously. Music can be used for so many platforms and create more than just a song....but an experience.

If you could change one thing, what would it be?

The thought that you have to fit a certain standard to make a go of it.

What does singing make you feel?

Singing is my heartbeat, it runs in my bones, it is how I think....random in music.

What's the best advice you've ever received?

Don't overthink it!

In your opinion, what would make the world a better place?

If we all just lift where we stood, and everyone did what they could in their own space to help make a difference, with kindness and not hate.

What biggest life lessons have you learned so far?

Failure is on the path to success.
