Thomas Day has just released his new single “Wildflower”, and WHAT A SONG. I can totally hear it on the radio. It’s big, empowering, inspiring, catchy and beautiful. I love how the record doesn’t stay stagnant and how it gets bigger and bigger as the song progresses. “Wildflower” is a big record.
Thomas Day is one of my favorite discoveries and I can’t wait to hear more.

Introduce yourself - what's your story?
My name is Thomas Day, I’m a 19 year old kid from Nashville, Tennessee and I am the world’s greatest lover.
What did you grow up listening to?
I grew up listening to Franki Valli and the Four Seasons with my parents, along with artists like Tom Jones and Stevie Wonder.
When did you know you could sing?
My mom told me I started humming when I was a baby. I have been singing for as long as I can remember. I didn’t realize I could sing though until my mom cried when I sang “When I Was Your Man” in the fourth grade.
What made you want to become an artist and release your original music?
I wanted to offer a hand to anyone who felt alone and making music was me expanding my hand to millions of people. It’s been life changing.
Who was the first person to ever believe in you?
My family all believed in me from the start.
"Wildflower" is your new single - what's the story/inspiration behind this single?
This song came to me in the most interesting way. I was in New York City for a songwriting trip. It was a Thursday morning and I was leaving my hotel and noticed this very pretty girl sitting on a park bench. As I was walking by we both noticed each other and smiled then she trailed next to me going to her location. At one point we stopped at a light and she was listening to music and I saw she had a sad playlist on. Which made me think, no matter how pretty or amazing your life can look from the outside, everyone experiences pain and can feel a little lost in life. This is my song to help anyone who feels alone.
When did you start working on "Wildflower"? Could you describe the songwriting/production for this single? Who helped you create it?
The songwriting came very naturally. I wrote it with Jesse Fink and Pompom.
What did you feel when writing "Wildflower"?
I felt excited and VERY ambitious!
What's your favorite thing about this song?
I love the energy that hits in the second chorus.
What made you want to release "Wildflower" as a single?
It’s a song about not being alone with mental health. That’s a hugely important subject right now that I think needs to be touched on.
What can you tell us about the artwork?
The artwork is my favorite cover yet. It was actually taken on an iPhone!
As an artist, what is the hardest part? And what is the best part?
The hardest part is being as honest to myself as possible by creating music that helps other people. And the best part is making that happen.
What are your thoughts on today's music industry? If you could change one thing, what would it be?
I think today’s music industry is VERY powerful. Also very inspiring.
Do you remember a specific time where music made a huge difference in your life?
I was struggling a lot with past trauma when I was in high school and I felt very lost and alone, but I was able to lean on music which helped me to heal.
In your opinion, what would make the world a better place?
If people just didn’t worry about what anyone else was doing with their lives and instead just loved everyone as much as possible.
What biggest life lessons have you learned so far?
Always keep the ones you love close.
