YARLIE

I discovered YARLIE with her first single “Wreck”. She’s a wonderful melody maker, a brilliant songwriter and vocalist. It’s no secret that Swedish artists are some of the best in the game. YARLIE is no exception. Produced by Zakarias Lekberg and Anders Rensfeldt, her latest single “Call of the Night” is a massive pop record, a celebration of freedom, an anthem for those who don’t give a shit. The hook melody is efficient as fuck, so as the production. “Call of the Night” is a smash.

YARLIE is bringing something different in the music world by creating big pop records, all the way from Sweden. A promising artist for sure.

“Call of the Night” is now available worldwide :)

"Call of the night" is your new single - what's the inspiration/story behind this song?

The inspiration for 'Call of the Night' is both people who dares to be themselves and love who they love, as well as people who's not there just yet. Those who doesn't have the courage just yet, those who simply can't and those who aren't allowed. When I was 14 yrs old I met my first girlfriend, and I was so very much in love with her. But at the same time, I was so scared. Scared about what people were going to think, and say. I cared way too much. But she never did. She was so careless. And now, more than 10 yrs later, it's clear to me that she was free, in a way that I never was. "Holding hands all forced, not in public, let's go home and I'll be yours" that part is about her. About us. So, 'Call Of The Night' is a celebration for those who dare, but also a cheer for those who wants to but for whatever reason simply just can't - yet.

Could you describe the songwriting/production for this particular single? Who helped you create it?

A couple of months ago I had my heart broken. So to patch it together again I packed my car full with all of my synthesizers, some bottles champagne and my computer, and then drove off to my cottage in the north of Sweden. There I put my phone in airplane mode and then started writing. Writing, singing, crying, dancing and drinking. Finding myself again. After a couple of days of writing my heart out, I called my best friend and producer Zakarias Lekberg and told him we're going to make an EP out of this. Said and done, me and Zakarias went to the studio and started producing. After a couple of hours another friend and producer of ours, Anders Rensfeldt, stopped by the studio and jumped onboard on what soon would become 'Call of the Night'.  Later that night, 'Call of the Night' was a fact. And now here it is, released and yours to keep.

What's your favorite thing about this song?

The multi purpose. The fact that you can listen to this song no matter what emotions you're feeling.

If you're happy - 'Call Of The Night'.

If you're sad - 'Call Of The Night'.

What made you want to release "Call of the Night" as a single?

I just felt it deserved the attention of a single.

As an artist, what is the hardest part? And what is the best part?

The hardest part about being an artist, or more so an independent artist, is all of the hard work. The never ending late nights in the studio, the fact that you need to be both an artist, photographer, social media expert, booking agency and promoter. But, that's also the very best part. It's so much fun and developing. And being my own boss, being in control, suits me very well.

What are your thoughts on today's music industry? If you could change one thing, what would it be?

If I could change one thing I'd make the industry equal. We're definitely moving in the right direction, but way too slow.

In your opinion, what would make the world a better place?

The world would be a better place if we all started questioning our own motives and actions.

What message do you want to deliver to the world?

Invest in yourself.

Do the hard work.

Trust the process, and enjoy the ride.
