Hi Hanna, thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions. How are you?

I'm great thank you! Excited to finally release new music!

What did you grow up listening to? Could you list a few records that influenced the music you are making today?

I've always had a diverse taste, but artists like Charli XCX, Skrillex and Yung Lean have been significant influences lately. Their ability to carve their own paths is truly inspiring.

When did you know music was more than just a hobby? What/who gave you the confidence to be an artist and release your original music?

I started doing music more then a hobby back in 2015. My mother and grandmother have always encourage me to pursue my passion which gave me the confidence to take music seriously.

"Medicine" is your latest single - what’s the story/inspiration behind this song?

Though it's a new release, "Medicine" draws from my memories. It delves into the theme of distraction, exploring how we sometimes turn to positive fantasies as a lifeline to escape negativity.

Could you describe to us the songwriting/production process for this song? When did you start working on it?

I collaborated with Carl Goldkuhl and David Kjellstrand over sessions months ago. The initial spark to this song was a synth melody resembling a guitar that Carl created. We wrote the song in one day and then produced it. Seeking a '90s vibe, we enlisted Paw Lagerman, a pioneer of that era's sound, to build on the production. The process was quite easy for this one and I just love how it turned out.

What did you feel when recording this song

It’s always fun to record vocals, I used to act when I was younger and it’s quite similar to doing that actually. I immerse myself in the lyrics, capturing the intended emotions. For "Medicine," the goal was a lush and happy yet vulnerable feel.

What's your favorite lyric on "Medicine"?

"I’m going outside, freaky freaky weekend try to find." It's a nod to a Swedish artist, Fricky, adding a playful touch for those who catch the reference.

What do you like the most about this song? What made you want to release "Medicine" as a single?

I love every aspect of the song! Its creation was so enjoyable, and I believe it perfectly represents my current sound, making it an obvious choice for a single release.

What message do you want to deliver through this single?

I want people to enjoy and dance to it.

As an artist, what is the hardest part? And what is the best part?

Self-promotion can be challenging, but it's a learning experience. The best part is connecting with fellow creatives and making music.

How's it like to be a woman in the music industry? What advice would you give to young female producers out there?

It's challenging but worth it. Surround yourself with those who appreciate your music and dreams. Sharing experiences with other females in the industry helps and remember, it's not often personal, even though it may feel that way.

What are your thoughts on today's music industry? If you could change one thing, what would it be?

That’s a tricky question, it got lots of improvement potential. What comes to mind first is that the payment structure between streaming services and songwriters needs improvement.

As a producer, what equipment/software do you use? What do you like the most about creating your own music?

I keep it pretty simple, I use Logic X, a Sontronics (Orpheus) microphone and midi-keys. My idea is that a good song is a good song, the equipment doesn't really matter. I really enjoy experimenting with different styles while maintaining a signature sound.

How would you describe the music scene in Sweden? Any artists you'd like to recommend?

It's an exciting place to be for songwriters and producers offering great studios and sessions. You may be familiar with the big names so let me introduce you to some promising alternatives you can proudly say you discovered first: Kerosene Kream, Moa McKay, Ame Ardai, and Sticky Baby.

Sweden and Scandinavia in general have a very strong music foundation which results in having some of the best musicians/singers/producers/artists in the game - how can you explain it? How do Scandinavian artists stand out from everyone else?

The school system in Sweden plays a big role in that. Practice is key, and in Sweden, aspiring musicians can easily pursue their passion through education without financial barriers. I wouldn’t be anything without my education in music.

What biggest life lessons have you learned so far?

In my musical journey, the most significant lesson I've learned is that no one wants to see your music succeed as much as you want to see your music succeed. You always need to be the driving force in the room, whether it's a promotional meeting or a session.

In your opinion, what would make the world a better place?

Letting women lead for a change could bring a positive shift (laughs), the current male leadership might be pretty questionable...
