Yarin Glam

LA pop r&b artist Yarin Glam recently released her latest single “Burn It Down” and it’s one my favorite new songs.

I’ve always been a huge fan of these kind of productions and Glam definitely delivered some crazy melodies. The emotion behind the song is the first thing that caught my attention. I feel emotional every time I listen to it and it feels good to actually feel something real when listening to a record. “Burn It Down” is a GREAT song, and it’s a must listen.

Congrats Yarin on this new song.

“Burn It Down” is out now !

Hi Yarin, how are you? Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions. What's your story?

I'm a singer/songwriter, born in Israel and now based in LA. My dream has always been to create music. My ultimate goal is to share a powerful message of self-love and acceptance through my music.

What did you grow up listening to? Do you remember specific records that had a huge impact in your life?

I grew up listening to everything. Beyoncé was definitely someone I looked up to growing up.

When did you know you had to become an artist and release your original music? What/who gave you the confidence?

Ever since I can remember myself I said that I am, and will become a singer one day. Although I only talked about it with my close group of friends and family because I was too shy. I always said to myself that once the opportunity showed itself I’d have to get over my fear and just do it. It definitely helped having my older sister by my side helping stay true to myself and my dream.

"Burn It Down" is your new single - what's the inspiration/story behind this song?

My sister! She’s my favorite person, the funniest person I know. She owns her crazy side like no other and I wanted to write a song from her POV. Talking about her ex and herself. It was super fun to write.

When did you start working on "Burn It Down"? Could you describe us the songwriting/production process for this song?

I started working on ‘Burn it down’ right before I went on my last tour opening up for EMBLEM3. I was listening to Bad Guy by Billie Eilish and I was inspired. I wanted to write a song from someone else’s POV. I usually write music about my own experiences and I thought I’d would be fun to change it up a bit. I mean some of it was inspired by one of my relationships but it’s mostly inspired by my sister and her stories.

What did you feel when recording this song?

It was actually really fun. I was laughing a lot during the session. I knew my sister will love that song and when I wrote the line “I’m crazy, I know it, I like it” I knew she’s gonna LOVE it.

What's your favorite lyric on "Burn It Down"?

Probably, “I’m crazy I know it, I like it”. I love singing that part live and I know how much my sister loves it.

What do you want people to feel when listening to this song?

I want them to have fun listening to it. It’s a great breakup song. Leaving a toxic situation. Owning whatever people might say about you and being unbothered by it. If they call you crazy, might as well own it am I right?

What message do you want to give to anyone struggling with their mental health?

I want them to know they’re not alone. I want them to understand that you don’t need to be “sick” enough in order to seek help. Speak up about it, reach out, and know that it does and it WILL get better.

How's it like to be a woman in the music industry? What advice would you give to women out there?

A lot of people will have their opinions. A lot of people will tell you who you need to be, or look like in order to succeed. My advice would be to focus on your truth. Stay true to yourself and never do anything that will make you uncomfortable , or feel like you’re not staying true to yourself.

What are your thoughts on today's music industry? If you could change one thing, what would it be?

Every industry has its pros and cons. I love that I’m able to share my art. I would probably take out those people who just try to take advantage of you. There’s a lot of those.

What biggest life lessons have you learned so far?

Probably the importance of listening to your intuition.

In your opinion, what would make the world a better place?

When we all learn how to be kind to one another. To wish well for one another. Celebrate one another, our differences, that’s what makes us unique. If we all come together instead of against each other, the world will be a better place.
