Liv Hanna
Miami-based singer/songwriter Liv Hanna recently revealed her latest single “AGAIN3X”.
Produced by Joe Lindsay, the new pop-rock single is about falling for someone over and over again despite all the wrong doings this person is doing.
It’s an energetic record with catchy melodies and a poignant message. “AGAIN3X” is a powerful anthem to those who are going through the same emotions.
Liv Hanna has a new single coming out on November 29th titled “star signs”, but for now, let’s keep streaming “AGAIN3X” on repeat !
Hi Liv, how are you? What's your story?
Hi! I’m doing good, how are you?! I am a singer-songwriter.
What did you grow up listening to?
I grew up listening to everything from opera to jazz to broadway. I listened to Alicia Keys, Sara Bareilles, and Lady Gaga quite a lot as well.
When did you know you could sing?
I have been singing since 2 or 3, I would say. I started voice and piano lessons as well as theater intensives at a very young age.
When did you know it was time for you to be an artist and release your original music?
After many community theater and acting intensives, I started writing my own songs around 12 years old. I began to work on my own craft and creating in addition to learning other renowned pieces in the musical world. My first time in the studio, I was 14, and I fell in love with the studio recording environment.
Who was the first person to ever believe in you professionally?
I think a lot of people believed in me professionally, but I’d have to say my voice and piano teacher, Shannon Gillespie Verderber. She was the best mentor that I could ask for to professionally prepare me to continue to exceed my expectations of myself in the musical world. Thank you, Shannon!
"AGAIN3X" is your latest single - what's the story/inspiration behind this song?
This song tells the story of a friend’s relationship that I was observing. We would constantly talk about this guy and how he always messes up and does this and that, and how awful he is, but she kept falling for him again, again, again. So, it’s basically saying that I know that you’re not the best person, but I’ll keep falling for you or coming back to you in spite of what you do because I love you so much or have hope that you’ll change or that the next time will be different.
Could you describe the songwriting/production process for this song? Who helped you create it? When did you start working on it?
I started working on it during one of my trips to LA over the summer. I was with my friends and their significant others and kind of sat as a silent.
What's your favorite part about this song?
I would definitely say the pre-chorus. This was actually supposed to be the chorus and the song was meant to be two parts: 2 verses and 2 choruses. I brought it in to my producer and he suggested that I make the chorus the pre chorus and write a new chorus, but that remains my favorite part of the song.
What made you want to release "AGAIN3X" as a single?
I’ve been releasing all of my songs as back to back singles to gain traction and engagement and build an audience. I might still rerecord it and include it in an upcoming EP . . . I also have an acoustic version of 'AGAIN3X' coming out at the start of the near year.
What do you want people to feel when listening to this song? What message do you want to deliver?
Love is complicated.
How do people respond to this song so far?
I’ve had some pretty good responses so far and people seem to resonate with it.
What are your thoughts on today's social media? How does it impact your career?
I think social media is detrimental to society’s mental health, but I think it can be a beneficial platform for an artist to share their message on. I definitely utilize brand strategy and marketing on all social platforms to build engagement and grow my target audience.
In your opinion, what would make the world a BETTER place?
If people were less judgmental and didn’t judge people for doing or liking things different from themselves.
What biggest life lessons have you learned this year?
Be consistent and results will come.
What can we expect to hear/see next?
I have a new single, “star signs,” set to be released on 11/29 and many new projects to be shared at the start of the new year!!!
