I started yoga
Hello :)
Yes, I started yoga a week ago and I’m going to start Day 7 of 30 days of Yoga with Adriene on Youtube. It’s been amazing, tiring, new, difficult and exciting. I’ve been meaning to start yoga for a long time but I was kinda lazy lol But ever since I got diagnosed with Basedow disease, I decided to mainly focus on my health and wellness. Taking care of myself is pretty much my number one focus lately. I heard yoga did some good for the mind, body and soul. After reading Dr Nicole LePera writing about yoga on her book “How To Do The Work”, I decided to give it a try. And so far, so good. I’ve been really determined so even if it gets hard, I always keep going. It’s been good for my breath, my back, my mental health and my body in general. I still feel stressed and anxious from time to time so I think yoga will help me a lot.
Some other things…
I started drinking ginger tea and chai latte. I’ve never been a fan of ginger but I know it’s good for my health and my thyroid inflammation. So here I am, drinking things I don’t like in order to heal :) (I love chai latte though !!)
I started doing intermittent fasting. I’ve been following a great Instagram profile where they give advices to people with thyroid problems. And intermittent fasting is very beneficial. Besides weight loss, this fasting can help lower cholesterol, improve glucose control, reduce liver fat and improve blood pressure. So I’ve been doing for a few weeks now. I eat my dinner at 5.45pm or 6pm and then I stop eating until morning - between 8 and 9am. It’s been pretty easy and something I really like doing. This change has been very beneficial and I am going to keep doing that.
I’ve been feeling pretty tired lately and I felt defeated and frustrated; I’ve been feeling very uninspired. I want to do new things, explore new things with thread.. But the inspiration is just not there. So I am just doing my best and waiting for better days :) But this weekend felt hopeful, despite the crappy weather.
I’m very proud of myself for all the changes I’ve done in my life since last month. It’s still the beginning but I am very motivated. My health is so important right now, and I will do my best to take care of it.
